Crack stitching is a proven, minimally invasive technique for repairing structural cracks in masonry walls. Using stainless steel helical bars bonded into the mortar bed, we restore the tensile strength of the wall and prevent further movement — without the need for major rebuilding works.
How It Works
Survey & Assessment
Our engineer visits the property, assesses the crack pattern, identifies the underlying cause, and recommends the appropriate repair specification.
Slot Cutting
Shallow slots are cut into the mortar bed across the crack at regular intervals — typically every two to three courses of brickwork.
Bar Installation
Stainless steel helical bars are set into the slots using a specialist cementitious grout, bonding across the crack and into sound masonry on both sides.
Reinstatement
Slots are pointed up to match the existing mortar profile. The repair is virtually invisible once complete and the wall is ready to redecorate.
